Degas' 'Dance Class at the Opera' Umbrella by Galleria

At the ballet, Degas found a world that excited his love of classical beauty. He did his initial drawings in the wings and classrooms of the Palais Garnier, the home of the Paris Opéra and its Ballet. A recent study of the ballet finds that Degas added his own little touches, such as bright sashes and black ribbons, to add charm to the ballet costumes of the day.
